THURSDAY

I have been up at uni all day today (in Exeter). The train on the way there was delayed by an hour due to 'signalling problems' which meant that I had to get a taxi from the station to the uni. I made it to classes on time (just) but would have preferred to have been able to walk to the uni before it started to stretch my legs after the 4hr journey.


The journey home however, was even worse! I got excited when my return train arrived at Exeter station on time (as it seems it rarely is). I boarded only to be told after sitting on the stationary train for half an hour that we would all need to get off. Apparently there had been a 'serious incident' further down the line. We were told the police were involved and there would be no trains passing that part of the line.


They bussed us to a place called Dawlish Warren in Devon where we caught another connecting train- which connected us to our train. The journey home was 4 1/2hrs and I finally got in at 10pm tonight, after leaving the house at 5.30am this morning!


Ok- rant over....

Dad- check out the CAMRA Kernow website (if you've not already done so). I was on it the other day and saw the Star Inn featured- which is close to where you're staying next week-end. It might be a possibility for a visit.
