We've stayed in mostly this weekend. Craig's been busy decorating the house whilst the waves have been too big for him to get out surfing. He's been very ecologically minded, recycling rather than buying new and he has made us a coat hook from a piece of wood that was previously part of the old dismantled fire place. Pictures will follow when it's finished. He's whittled it into the shape of....... yes, you guessed it- waves!! He's obsessed.
I'm off most meat at the moment after listening to too many programmes about the conditions some of the animals live in and what they put in some meat products. Craig was happy to go along with me with the Quorn chicken pieces, but I think the sausages on Friday may have been a step too far! A bit rubbery!
I've been trying to do some studying (next essay is on generalised anxiety disorder) and catching up with chores. I got some time to read my monthy 'The Psychologist' magazine, and I saw the obituary for my supervisor, Dave Shewan, from Glasgow Caledonian University. He was 43yrs old; suffered from epilepsy and had a seizure at the swimming pool. Dave had been quite a controversial academic and had made the front page of 'The Sun' the year I knew him when they published details of his study investigating heroin use in prisoners. I can't remember the headline but the story had implied that Dave's research supported the use of drugs. He had thought the coverage was quite amusing.
Upped the mileage yesterday at running and did 18 miles. I'd taken the advice of other runners and carried sugary sweets and carb drinks with me which really helped. I didn't make it to my rowing after though!
I've attached a photo of me, with friend Mark, in back garden. Noticed there was a lack of photo's of me on this blog!

glad to get a photo of you. Keep it up. I use yours and Dads blogs to get my fix of home, especially right now with our weather here in Oregon being reminiscent of home and making me homesick!! Miss you.
