Craig has the camera in Scotland so I have no new pictures to show you. But I thought I'd add an old one, to give you something to look at.
I met the guys who I'm doing the Three Peaks with again today. They all come over to 'my side' of Cornwall and we went along the cliffs from St Agnes to Perranporth and back.
It was only about 12miles, but took us around 3hrs because of the inclines. I showed my inexperience of running off road and fell rather spectacularly a few miles in. Ripping my trousers, knees and hands to bits! I was not alone though and two others had falls later on.
Some of Maggie's friends who are doing the challenge have lots of experience. One guy completed a desert ultra marathon last year: 220miles across a desert (don't know which one) in 5 days, carrying all your own supplies!!!! Another guy turned 60 this year and finished his 50th marathon (in his slowest time yet, which was still a really respectable 4hrs 12mins).
The weather this morning was misty and from the top of the cliffs looking out you couldn't see anything. It felt like you were running along the edge of a witches cauldron as the mist billowed over the edge of the cliff in front of you. Having the mist meant it was nice and cool to run though and by the time we finished off it had burned off and it turned into a scorching hot day. I spent the rest of the afternoon in the garden reading. The mist has just returned as I'm writing this, which has encouraged me back inside. Just as well, so I can get on with writing this last essay.
