Last week I was on training every day at work, so a really easy week for me. This week is turning out not too bad so far too. I'm filling in at a surgery for the time being. Eventually, I'll get assigned my new surgery- probably next month. But for September I'll be part time at this surgery and part time delivering training. All the changes are due to the new contract at work. Lots of staff have expressed reservations/ anxieties about the changes- but I'm enjoying the change from the constant patient contact.
This morning I managed to arrange my diary to get enough time to go for a 14mile jog with my chum, Ruth. We went along the off-road cycle trail that runs coast to coast across Cornwall. We started at a place called Blackwater and ran to Devoran on the South Coast. The weather was just perfect for running- still (no breeze), mild, but not sunny. The track we took is part of the old railway line. It goes past lots of Cornish Engine houses and terrifyingly deep open mine shafts. We stood for long enough to chuck a couple of stones down these disused shafts and waited to eventually hear the plop of the stones hitting the bottom.
We're planning to come up to Scotland on Thursday night after work. We're hoping to get on the road for about 3.30pm- which would mean we'll arrive in the early hours of Friday morning. We're hoping you'll leave the door open for us-mum and dad? On Friday- Craig's parents are thinking they'll come through to Banchory to meet us somewhere for lunch. Which means we can have tea together once they head back to Peterhead (you lucky things!). The wedding is on Saturday at Blairs Church and then the Old Mill Inn. I'm hoping my quarter century old little brother will maybe pick us up from the reception on the Saturday night.....??? If not, we'll taxi it home.
Looking forward to seeing everyone again. Gary- will you, Carole and Luca be able to make it through either Friday or Sunday to see us for a while? If not, I could try and make it to Aberdeen/ Inverurie on Sunday to see you? Promise- no hill walking for the little fella. Although it sounds like Grannie Jo has taken over the mantle of over exhausting Luca. Does this sound like its turning into some sick, family abuse tradition? Poor little guy.
