Easter weekend

On Saturday morning, I went for a long run with a few people from my club. We were supposed to be going from Marazion (nr Penzance) to Lands End, but the weather called for a rethink of our route. Saturday morning was very windy with intermittent hail showers and we all agreed that it would be too exposed along the coast. So instead we went for a route inland. Less scenic, but also more sheltered and easier going. We did about 19 miles, but with plenty of stops and I felt pretty good afterwards. The first time I've done a long run like that and not felt like dying for the whole day after.

I met with Craig, Mark and Siobhan after the run at a place called Gulval (nr Penzance) and we visited Gus, Kirsten and the kids for an Easter afternoon tea. Kirsten had made chocolate cake which tasted really good after the run.... (do I just blog about running and eating...?).

After, we headed over to Helston to meet with Bruce, Tina, Lowenna and Tom for a few beers at the Blue Anchor (dad's favourite Cornish pub..?). It was the Blue's beer festival- I'll let Craig describe the ale drinking experience as I only had a couple of half's of lager. We went back to Bruce and Tina's after for some.... food. Yes, the food was good. We had soup, rolls, meat and various snacky things. Just enough to soak the beer up. And more chocolate cake. Yes, I did have some (again). I am a little piggy.

Sunday and Monday I spent relaxing, catching up on chores and doing my essay. I've also started reading a book about mindfulness meditation for my course. So I'm practicing living in the present moment..... not the past, not the future, but the present.... aaah, I feel relaxed...!

Sorry to hear about Scott's gran. Give our love to his family. We'll be thinking of them all.

Love,
Kellyxx
