I thought I'd give you the links for the hotels I'm staying in before and after the challenge this weekend. I've just looked at them for the first time just now and they look fairly good. The one in Scotland particularly looks fun... tartan carpets and a stuffed bear in the lobby. Nothing like playing to stereotypes then!! But as there are people in the group who've never been to Scotland I hope the hotel fulfills their need for Scottish twee-ness! (is that how you spell fulfill..?!)

The woman who organised the trip flew up to Scotland today and has picked up the hire cars. One of them apparently doesn't have sat nav. Dad- if you have a map of the Lake District can you take it with you on Saturday please? If not, we can buy one. I suggested we do a route finder but someone has said they think it wouldn't work for all the 'little roads in Scotland...'? I'm not sure about that, but not sure enough to debate it further..!
