On Gary's recommendation, I watched Coronation Street last night. It was the first episode I had watched in a long time. But like with most soaps it was fairly easy to get back into. I thought it was pretty good and will be watching next week for... the murder!
Once on a roll, I decided to watch Eastenders too. It was terrible- so I went and read my book instead. I've recently finished Vic Reeves autobiography- which was ok- and have now started John Peel's autobiography- which I'm finding much better. I read a lot of autobiographies... does anyone have any recommendations of fiction I might enjoy? I don't want anything sad or despairing- I get enough of that at work- something funny- any ideas?
Our Beetle is on ebay now- still a week to go- but we've had 7 bids and there are 12 people watching- so a reasonably good response so far. The bids so far have not met our reserve price, so I'm hoping that those 12 are waiting to pounce at the last minute with massive bids! I'll be sad to see it go because its so cute- but its not economical to drive and everytime mum sits in the back it squeaks! Dad also has lumps on his head from sitting in the back and me going over speed bumps too fast. Sorry Dad! So, yes- time to go- Craig has his heart set on getting a wee Scooter to drive to replace it.
Today I got up and there was a card for me in the kitchen from Craig. Its our 5th anniversary of when we got together (at a party after a couple of drinks!). Neither one of us usually remembers, but my chum does (because it was her birthday party) and she called this week and gave Craig the heads up. Drat. I look like the baddie- Craig got nowt! Apparently, he visited our 'Fisherman Friend' and got some fresh crab too, so I'm getting that for tea. Lucky me!
Later this morning, I think I'm going to get my bike out and cycle to Pool to the market and pick up a cat flap. Snoop comes in and out of windows at the moment. But I'm thinking as the weather gets colder, I'm going to want those windows shut. Talking of cold weather, I'm hoping to get Craig to buy the flue for the multifuel burner this week. If we're staying for the winter, I want to be cosy!
