Yesterday I had a half day training and I took the opportunity of an afternoon off to go and visit my friend Ruth in St Ives. Ruth and her partner own the silver shop and have the fortunate position of living above their shop in the heart of St Ives. We went a did a 18.5mile run from St Ives to Penzance and back followed by tea at Ruth's, which was lovely. She made a thai style prawn curry, which we washed down with beer whilst sitting at her kitchen table looking out over St Ives high street.

Today I was up at Plymouth for the first induction day at university. I skipped the last presentation of the day- how to research for an essay. This will be my 8th year and university and rather smugly assumed that I should probably know how to do this by now. Me and a few other smug sorts went and found a local pub with a beer garden and sat out in the unusually mild weather.

The good news from the course is that they have finally agreed where the teaching will be held. It was either going to be at the university campus in Plymouth, or the teaching suites at the hospital in Truro. I was really pleased to find they will be predominantly at Truro-meaning I could cycle to the hopsital in the mornings. I need all the exercise I can get after my rubbish performance whilst running with Ruth yesterday!

Ok, so I'm going to get ready for bed now. I'm up at the crack of dawn again tomorrow to head up to Plymouth again for the second and final induction day. Good to speak to you today dad (albeit briefly!). Not sure why we got cut off? Hope it went ok at Ochiltree Ave.
